damn, i dont want to be a bummer - but why do some of us still do b&P - so many of us here are so far beyond that - i just ran into it myself - $13 or i dont get the show - just not what im used to with johnny, highflow, McGlone, JodyC, Arbuthnot, and Lehigh (who sent me stuff and woudnt even take a trade - just being a true head and audiophile - thanks man) and others.
I just dont get it. arent we all old enough to shell out 5 or 6 bucks to make each other happy. Damn people, that's the price of one gin and tonic at at bar.

Sorry for venting - i just don't get i sometimes - must be just me - oh well :)

hey dire,

that's a tough one. tonights applicable cliche - beggars can't be choosers..

i put the request our there, so i'll play by the rules. i've craved those shows for sometime and i'm grateful for matt's (and everyone else's) response.

food for thought though.

now to the beer, bud and baseball.

oh man - i should not have ragged on the situation. My mistake. just got used to the way things have been here for the past few months. I understand your point completely.
Just seems like, now that most of us are older and wiser, we can share withoug worrying about a piddly few bucks. You my friend have to spend more sending things to me being international. But that is you. And I dontmind reciprocating. it is just money - like i said - less than a couple of gin and tonics at the local bar. You are different though - as are several of the other regulars.

Like i mentioned -= kudos to Lehigh - that dude mailed me out stuff without wanting anything in return. A really really nice gesture and certainly appreciated. A true music lover - as are many of us regulars.

I just dont get the others with the b&p thing at this stage in our lives. We dont work at Wendy's anymore making 7 bucks an hour. Sorry - i am way off base - just got me tonite.

Peace all - and thanks to all who have helped me out :)

Man, I can't wait to be where you dudes are. Presently living on student loans with a new family - just can't be going out and buying a couple of gin and tonics. I love to share, and will go out of my way to, but if you want the show, and I don't have to spend $, I'll get it to you if I have it. In the future when I'm working I'll be even more generous. As it is, I have more time than money, and very little of that as well.

not to be an ass man (although i know i am) - i got my phd on student loans, but always had a few bucks for a couple of drinks or a show or two. Not raggin on you for the B&P thing - if you cant spare the $5 you cant spare it. Sorry for offending you - i just dont buy it - sorry. ive been there...... i just dont buy it

Not a problem, I prefer to do things electronically, but I'm way behind on the tech end of it. You don't have to buy, I'm not sellin' - I do plenty of gift mailings, he just sounded like he knew what he wanted and rather than send out an inferior quality CD, I thought I'd let him send it to me and I'd just do it here. Not to kick a dead horse, but I felt like I was being spanked for not being a 'kind soul to fill my bowl' - I used to hate that on tour - you know, all dreaded out and smelly thinking that every 'head ought to give to them just because they were more 'authentic'. Anyway, cheers!

I really didnt mean my response that way, sorry man. Had a somewhat bad experience earlier. Just used to a different way of doing things, though not the "kind soul to fill my bowl" philosophy - though i know that one well from other ingrates. I just hate b&p - into sharing and giving - not your fault - mine for spouting off. peace man - no hard feelings i hope.

None at all - I know from whence you're coming. Thats why I like the idea of I'll put it up and you can download it. Unfortunately, when I got my first 'puter two years ago, I downloaded like mad w/o first learning proper ettiquette. I renamed and moved all the files I got from db.etree, shnflac.net and others. So, now I have a few hundred gigs that I am learning how to give back. The learning curve is getting sharper, so soon I'll be on track. And what's the deal with the PO anymore? Last time I went there, it was like an hour wait! Yeah, no offense taken. See Ya!

nope, came to me after I'd posted. BTW, I've really started to become a Bobby fan of late - just never took the time to appreciate his rhythm 'quirks'. Prolly in part because I'd read too many accounts of his 'learning' on stage and it prejudiced my ear.

other than the infamous "seeya" - ive always been a bobby fan - ive always loved his sometimes quirky and othertimes "right on" rhythym playing. To be honest, when i first got into the dead, i loved the bobby tunes far more than the jerry tunes. the dead would not have been "the dead" without bobby's great contributions. he and phil were the ones that allowed jerry to flow so freely (in my opinion - others may disagree)

I actually respected him for saying that. I admit that I got caught up in the hoopla after the 'boards were pulled. Hey, the guys have given so much (and I'm sure it wasn't all work and no play - I think the guys have had alot of fun on the way!). But, I totally see the business side of it. Its acutally encouraging we 'heads to have such banter as we do.

as much as i bitched about bobby - being a businessman, i can't fault him either - i aint giving my "product" for free either. Like you, i gave a kneejerk reaction (i assume you did from your comment). Things have been workin out great lately in the trading aspect - again, sorry for misunderstanding you, that was my fault. I hope if we have the opportunity to trade, you dont hold it against me. I shoot my mouth off way way too often on this site.
